The assignment contains 25 reading tasks and 20 reading responses. Students are required to make 'BINGOS' by working through 15 to 20 of the genre choices.  Upon completion of each text, they should submit a reading response of their choice from the Reading Response Menu.  Each reading response choice may only be used once.  All required tasks should be completed by the end of the school year.

The first part of the assignment will include using the Learning Skills Independent Reading Plan to set individualized timelines and to make a plan for completing the tasks and achieving the goals set in the timeline.

Each student will have a Reading Response Duo Tang which should include their genre bingo sheet, learning skills independent reading plan, and the rubric (which are all attached below). All reading responses should be completed on looseleaf paper or computer paper and submitted (with name, date, book title included). Students should use the ROPES strategy to ensure their answers are well supported. When their responses have been assessed and returned, they should be filed and stored in the duo tang.
